Position: Senior Specialist – Data Analyst

Location: Gauteng, South Africa

Contract Duration: 6 Months (Renewable)

Role Overview:

• We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Senior Specialist: Data Analyst with strong SQL expertise and a solid understanding of data structures. The successful candidate will play a key role in analyzing and validating data, producing high-quality documentation, and supporting the delivery of reliable data solutions.
• This role requires a blend of analytical capability, technical writing, and testing experience to ensure data accuracy and overall solution integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop clear, detailed technical specifications and supporting documentation
• Build and maintain data pipelines using an in-house low-code development platform
• Analyze and interpret complex datasets to support business and technical requirements
• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting
• Design, execute, and validate test cases to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Identify data quality issues and support resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including business and technical stakeholders
• Maintain and update documentation in line with system and process changes

Minimum Requirements (Must-Have Skills)

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex joins and advanced data manipulation
• Solid understanding of data structures and relational database concepts
• Exposure to or experience with Databricks
• Proven experience writing technical specifications and documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in data testing, validation, and quality assurance processes
• Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
