SENIOR BUSINESS SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION CONSULTANT
(Health and Hygiene Management Systems)
Qualifications
Formal qualifications are not imperative; however, the following qualifications will support the role:
- BEng Industrial Engineering
- BCom Information Technology
- Specific ICT courses related to Project Management and Systems Implementations
- Minimum 5–8 years' experience implementing Enterprise Business Systems
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be expected to gain expert knowledge of the functionality and capabilities of the Business System and be responsible for:
- Defining business requirements
- Mapping Business System functionality to business requirements
- Implementing the Business System
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Project Leadership
- Requirements Analysis
- System Configuration
- User Training
- System Support
Technical Requirements
SQL Skills (Mandatory)
The candidate must possess strong SQL knowledge and practical experience, including:
- SELECT statements
- UPDATE statements
- JOIN operations
- SQL scripting
- SQL Views
- Query analysis and optimization
- Data migration scripts
- Stored Procedures
- Triggers
Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing technical specifications for implementations
- Understanding, following, and implementing customer change control processes
Testing Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for:
- System Testing
- Data Testing
- Process Testing
Occupational Health and Hygiene Business System
The Business System provides industries with a Digital Occupational Health and Hygiene Management Solution.
The solution includes functionality for:
- Occupational Health
- Primary Health
- Chronic Disease Monitoring
- Managed Disease Programmes
- Injury on Duty Management
- Occupational Hygiene Management
Industry and Customer Environment
Customers operate in industries governed by:
- Mine Health and Safety Act
- Occupational Health and Safety Act
Industries include:
- Mining
- Construction
- Manufacturing
- Food Processing
- Automotive Manufacturing
- Other related sectors
Working Environment
The client head office is based in Centurion and employs approximately 55 Software Developers and Implementation Consultants.
Work Arrangement
- Primarily Work-from-Home
- Customer site visits as required
- Reliable home internet connectivity is essential
Travel Requirements
The role requires regular travel to customer sites by road or air, depending on distance.
Typical travel expectations:
- Average daily round trip: ±300 km
- Longer trips: ±600 km round trip, requiring overnight accommodation
- Occasional week-long assignments at customer sites
During project implementation phases, overnight travel is generally from:
- Monday to Thursday
- Training periods
- System Go-Live phases
Although remote support is possible for most customers, travel remains necessary for:
- Face-to-face customer engagements
- System upgrades
- Implementations
- Project-related activities
After-Hours Work
System upgrades may occasionally be scheduled after hours, requiring flexibility to work outside standard business hours.

Although initial guidance and support will be provided, the successful candidate must be capable of managing responsibilities independently.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own portfolio of work, including:
- Project execution
- Customer communication and feedback

- Delivery of project milestones
- Resource management for project delivery
The candidate will perform both:
- Lead Consultant roles
- Resource/Implementation Consultant roles
The role requires the ability to:
- Work under pressure
- Meet project deliverables
- Manage support requirements effectively
